Not much to write home about yet. I've just inherited the County of Chester after the Pope disinherited an distant relative of my uncle. It's part of Mercia, and now I'm stuck with it. It took me six months to travel here, and it's cold. And rainy. And cloudy. My, liege, King Offa, seems nice and at least he keeps his hands to himself. I'm apparently being married to a Dog. No, Doge, my aunt says. He's Italian. We'll see how that works out. I'm an old woman now, but the years have been kind to me. 5 children, several grandchildren (plus a couple illegitimate ones, but that can't be helped). I've formed the Kingdom of Gwynedd, and my daughter will probably take over as Aurora II in not too many more years. I worry for her though. France has split apart, and there seems to be no one willing or able to stop the advance of the Moors across Spain and into France. Aurora's husband may yet rule Asturias, but only if there is any of it left. Viscaya and Leon are all that remain today. Our island must be united soon before we too fall prey, either to the pagans from the south or the pagans to the northeast.
