OverviewCentral America is burning. It's been burning for nearly thirty years. The smoke chokes the air, and the land is red, yellow, and black. Terrifying creatures soar through the air, and beasts march amongst the remnants of razed cities.
Unlike some realms which seek to conquer, Xibalba exists only to destroy. A few humans still survive in this land, but they are used for slave labour and treated harshly, made to mine huge boreholes, deep into the ground. Xibalba seems to be searching for something. |
FriendsXibalba tolerates the existence of surrounding lands, until at least, it needs to strip that land as well. They use Sipopu and Hanan Pacha as buffer zones, but that probably won't last, as their search expends a little every day.
EnemiesXibalba has a purpose, and it will be attained. Anyone who gets in the way will find themselves an enemy.

Atlanteans
Atlanteans are golems, standing at least 20 feet tall, carved from stone or clay. Their large stone hands and feet make both sturdy tools and formidable weapons. They are sometimes seen carrying obsidian spears and swords, and even enormous darts, but never any defensive weaponry. They help move the mining apparatus set up by Xibalba. In war, their favoured strategy is to march into the sea, travelling under cover of the ocean and attacking from the shore. Bacab There are five Bacabs, all male, bar one. They appear human, or very similar, and they have the ability to transform into dragons, but aside from those things, are not similar at all. The Red Bacab controls fire; the Blue Bacab controls water. The Green Bacab and White Bacab control earth and air respectively, and the Black Bacab, the only female, controls the void. Cadejo Cadejo are shaggy dogs with burning red eyes and goat's hooves. They always appear in pairs, a white and a black. They appear seemingly from nowhere as soon as a visitor crosses the border of Xibalba. The white one appears to protect travelers from natural dangers, but the black one will attempt to harm them if they leave the safety of the road. |
Lords of Day
The Lords of Day grow stronger with increased exposure to the Sun. At low levels, they can shield themselves with heat, and start fires remotely. As their power grows, they lash out with fire blasts and even explode violently. The appear on a very basic level as humanoid, but they lack faces and their limbs end smoothly, without hands or feet. They have the power of flight, and generally hover inches of the ground when at rest. Lords of Night The Lords of Night are the opposite of the Day. Where the Lords of Day have no face, the heads of the Lords of Night are covered in eyes of various sizes as well as mouths sporting horrible fangs. Their limbs end in tentacles which can stretch, pulling in surrounding darkness to grow in length and strength. It is said that those trapped are not eaten, but rather, the eyes see into their souls and the mouths whisper the most terrifying secrets. |
Xibalba
Whatever lives on the other side of the Dark Road is not coming through. Instead, it sends it's servants, and seemingly has commanded them to search for something. Its general on this side does not have a name, but men have given to calling it Xibalba. It appears as a city conjured from rubble and shadow, and does not generally move. When it does, chaos and destruction are sure to follow in its wake. Yahui These large, turtle-like creatures have shaggy fur, ranging from brown to black. They normally move slowly, taking their time to travel, and they rarely pause. When threatened though, they can become a whirlwind of action, tearing into attacks with their huge claws while attacking foes farther off with powerful magic. |
