OverviewOne of the largest rifts to ever open was centred over the English Channel. Within hours, everything within three hundred fifty miles was changed. The land that replaced the phased out portions of England and France seemed remarkably old. Later tests would reveal that the rift came from a world ten times older than Earth. But that was not the strangest part. In that world, it was plant, not animal that gained ascendancy. Huge creatures known as ents walked the land, although most were old and weak.
Some fifteen centuries ago, the ents had come through an earlier rift, and used the younger earth to revitalise themselves, setting up Ynys Afallon, the Isle of Apples, in ancient England. From this, they know old English, which they can use, although verbal communication is not their first choice. The younger Earth has positive effects for them, and the longer they stay, the stronger they become. |
FriendsAvalon makes friends as often as they can, and has had a mostly friendly relationship with Valhalla. They also get along fine with the humans around them, although this is mostly due to the resemblance that the humans bear to their favourite pets, the huorns.
EnemiesThe only other realms that Avalon has come in contact with are Tír na Nóg, Nifleim, and Avernus. Although Tír na Nóg is not overtly violent, they have been trouble, owing to their continued attempts to steal precious objects. Niflheim and Avernus on the other hand, they fight openly, after at the side of Valhalla or the humans.

Denizens
Ac
Acian ents are solders of the line, solidly grown and sturdy. they take over as heads of state during times of conflict. Their thick bark protects them from many attacks, and their grip is deadly. Their most legendary leader was Rah, the Bear. Cypres Cypresi tower above all other ents, but they do not normally care to move like the others. However, they will awaken when needed. It is best if you do not make them feel needed. |
Gran
Graen ents are the thinkers, and heads of state during peace. They are not quick to react, but prefer to spend the time that only the trees have in deliberation to ensure a correct decision. Huorn Huorn are the ents' companions, much in the same way that dolphins or chimps would be to humans. They are near-human, but appear to either not understand humans, or be under strict instructions not to communicate with them. Huorn come in two varieties - Lanc and Meril. Lanc are masters of the sword, and Meril, while rarer, are masters of magic. |
Welig
Weligaen ent are thin and wispy, but move with more grace and speed than most think possible. They fight using their 'hair' which acts as multiple whips. |
