The Sky Wars
The old gods turned their attention away from Terminus long ago, leaving the mortal races to their own devices. Civilizations have crumbled and new nations formed from the ruins, but never before was a there a threat like the Storm King. Over thirty years have passed since the known world was swept into a war that raged across its entire surface. The army of the Iron Empire swept across the continent from the eastern sea, led by The Storm King. Slavery and destruction followed in their wake.
But the lower races did not give in. United together under the ‘Covenant of All’, any who had yet to fall under the Storm King’s thrall joined the fight. Fell monsters and creatures were summoned by mages on both sides. New technology was developed, fusing crystals imbued with magic in order to create airships and weapons to win back the skies. The Storm King and his armies were finally pushed back to the east, until both sides had amassed the remainder of their forces for one final battle.
The Tempest, as it would be known in later years, took place on the cliffs of Scymira. The alliance was successful in driving back the dark armies of the dread lords - the Storm King and his dread lords perished in the battle.
However, the consequences of the Sky Wars - the magic that ravaged the land, the fell beasts, and the undead that were unleashed on the world - still remain. Recently there have been increased reports of missing people, brazen attacks by previously cowardly creatures, and stories of strange happenings spread throughout the land.
